I felt the urge to start dabbling in the digital arts scene again. What a great time passer for the upcoming Winter months. Hopefully I can stay creative enough to churn out some good wallpapers. Music makes one hell of a difference when you're working on an art piece. I think my dry spell from oct 04 to oct 05 was directly related to the lack of inspiring music I'd heard in awhile. Dredg, Death Cab, and Daphne Loves Derby have been quite helpful.
Warning: This is a plug for microsoft.
I'm absolutely 100% impressed with Codenamed Acrylic. I downloaded it over the summer and didn't even open it. On a whim a few nights ago I thought I'd check it out and wow... wow. It's like the best of illustrator and photoshop combined. It reminds me of paint shop pro which has long been one of my favorite graphic editors.
My first experiment with Acrylic turned out to be love.is.the.drug [link] , which j3concepts [link] and myself collaborated on. The first 10 wallpapers in the pack were my doing, and the rest kickass variations are j3's spin on it. Can someone tell me how the hell he comes up with the abstract portions like he does? I swear the guy could shit on his computer and end up with an asthetic clean wallpaper.
